MartinLogan has announced the Depth series of subwoofers. According to the designers, the luxury subwoofers Depth 212 and Depth 215 are designed to redefine the possibilities of low-frequency reproduction.
MartinLogan Depth 212 and Depth 215

The Depth Series represents the pinnacle of MartinLogan’s engineering expertise, according to the designers, delivering powerful yet impeccably clean bass performance.

Thanks to reference amplification and DSP, Carbon Aerocore woofers, and MartinLogan’s signature BalancedForce woofer topology, the result is clear, distortion-free bass that enhances everything from two-channel to multi-channel systems.
“Replacing our industry-leading BalancedForce subwoofers was no small undertaking,” said Allan Tarrant, Senior Vice President of MartinLogan. “We decided to start from scratch and design something completely original to take bass performance to the next level. I’m happy to report that this new Depth Series has exceeded our expectations in every way. From the look, the feel, the fit and finish, the features, and most importantly, the sound quality, they’re truly something special.”

“The BalancedForce woofer configuration has been a key component of our subwoofer technologies for decades, ever since it was first introduced in the Statement E2 sub-bass floorstanders,” said Andrew Lindsey, product manager at MartinLogan. “Depth 212 and Depth 215 take full advantage of this balanced, dual-opposed design with an all-new woofer cone material we call Carbon Aerocore. These advanced woofer cones utilize a three-layer, unibody construction consisting of a carbon fiber layer, a PMI structural foam layer, and finally a glass fiber layer. This combination creates an extreme strength-to-weight ratio with incredible self-damping properties—resulting in clean, detailed, and articulate bass.”

MartinLogan Depth: Key Features and Properties
- BalancedForce Woofer System: Two powered 12-inch (Depth 212) or 15-inch (Depth 215) woofers work in perfect opposition, eliminating cabinet resonance and distortion for clean, clear bass response.
- Carbon Aerocore Woofers: Each woofer cone is crafted from three layers of carbon fiber, PMI structural foam, and fiberglass, delivering a high strength-to-weight ratio for maximum performance. Advanced triple-venting optimizes airflow and reduces thermal compression, while dual copper shorting rings suppress distortion for effortless low frequencies.
- High-Power Reference Grade Class-D Amplification: The Depth 212 delivers 2,200 watts dynamic peak (1,100 watts RMS), while the Depth 215 utilizes dual amplifiers to deliver 4,400 watts dynamic peak (2,200 watts RMS). This enables exceptional dynamic range, low distortion, and precise bass response, even at the most demanding listening levels.
- 64-bit Vojtko DSP Engine: A proprietary 500MHz, 64-bit DSP engine that actively monitors and optimizes performance in real time for superior accuracy and effortless musicality.
- Convection-cooled, hidden amplifier design: Hidden amplifier and connections in a clean rear design with dual aluminum heatsinks for effective convection cooling and discreet cable management.
- Concealed Touch Control Interface (TCI): Complete subwoofer control without an app. Six illuminated touch points and an LED display provide intuitive access to all settings, with customizable backlighting for a discreet appearance.
- Integrated vibration-damping feet: Minimize energy transfer and room resonance for tighter, cleaner bass and improved clarity.
- Anthem Room Correction (ARC): Supports award-winning ARC technology for precise room equalization, tuning, and calibration. Includes a premium calibration microphone kit for effortless setup.
- Extensive connectivity: including XLR and RCA inputs, speaker inputs, RCA Sub Out and lossless wireless subwoofer connectivity.
