Shanling CD-S100 (23): High-performance and versatile CD player

Shanling CD-S100 (23) is a high-quality, high-performance and versatile CD player. The system is based on a tri-core Junzheng X2000 processor with XBurst2 architecture, providing high power for data processing. The digital-to-analog conversion stage uses the latest version of AKM AK4493 chip to effectively decode the audio stream for accurate audio reproduction. CD playback is carried out using a Philips CD80 servo system (MT1389L) and a Sanyo HD850 playback head.

The CD-S100 (23) also features Bluetooth 5.0 reception thanks to the integration of the AP6256AC chip. It thus enables wireless audio transmission, for example from a smartphone, and is compatible with the high-quality Bluetooth LDAC codec.

There’s also a USB-A input port for reading files from a storage device, or a USB-B input capable of reading high-resolution streams up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512.

In terms of outputs, the CD-S100 (23) provides an analogue stereo RCA output, as well as two digital outputs, optical and coaxial.

Finally, on the front of the device is a nice round LCD display with a resolution of 320*290px, capable of displaying information about the current playback, as well as album covers.

While the Shanling CD-S100 (21) can be controlled in the traditional way using the included remote control, it can also be controlled using the free Edict Player mobile app. This application allows you to browse your music library and also directly control music playback.

Thanks to the new philips CD80 servo system (MT 1389L) and Sanyo HD850 read head, the reading system is very stable and reliable. In addition, version 23 of the CD-S100 introduces two new LTA 8092 AOPs. Overall, the characteristics of the CD-S100 are improved: SNR is 114 dB, dynamic range is 117 dB, and the distortion level does not exceed 0.0007%.
