Rotel introduces the RAP-1580MKII multi-channel integrated amplifier processor, which supports advanced surround audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. The processor is standard width, 8 inches (20 cm) high and equipped with a 7-inch screen. The RAP-1580MKII processor/multi-channel surround amplifier features seven channels of Class AB amplification, a large Rotel proprietary toroidal transformer, and high-efficiency hole-plate storage capacitors. The amplifier produces 100 W per channel at 8 Ohms with all channels operating simultaneously and up to 200 W of power at 4 Ohms with two channels operating.
The latest quad-core DSP from Texas Instruments and an array of six audiophile Wolfson 24-bit/192 kHz DACs deliver sound quality that meets the highest acoustic standards worthy of the Rotel brand. The DSP and DAC are supported by carefully tuned audio components to deliver clean, precise and accurate sound to the amplifier’s output stages, ensuring ease of operation and enormous soundstage depth. In addition to exceptional audio processing, the Rotel RAP-1580MKII also includes support and licensing for Dirac Live LE room correction technology, providing tuning in the most challenging frequency range – from 20 Hz to 500 Hz. Using the included calibration microphone, Dirac software measures and calculates DSP coefficients to create a completely unique listening experience.
The Rotel RAP-1580MKII has a full range of inputs, including optical, coaxial, analog, XLR, iPod USB, PC-USB (24/192), apt-X Bluetooth – for high-quality wireless streaming – and a phono input for vinyl turntable pickups with moving magnet (MM). The eight HDMI inputs include seven on the rear panel and one on the front panel, with three HDMIs supporting 4K/HDR pass-through and both HDMI outputs supporting 4K/HDR resolution.
Several amplifier configuration options are available to redirect internal amplifiers to the height and surround channels, as well as provide the ability to use external main channel amplifiers for larger home theater applications. This ensures that all seven channels of internal amplification can be used regardless of home theater and speaker size for maximum application flexibility.
The graphic display on the front panel makes it easy to read status parameters and simple settings of all characteristics. The Rotel RAP-1580MKII is easy to use, powerful, flexible and sophisticated.
