The Austrian company Pro-Ject has expanded its family of “boxes” with the Phono Box E BT5 model . This is a completely budget preamp/phono stage for MM cartridges, but with modern additions.

Pro-Ject Phono Box E BT5

Firstly, the Pro-Ject Phono Box E BT5 switches not one, but two inputs – the corrector input and the linear one. Secondly, the Phono Box E BT5 supplies them to two outputs. The first is a regular 3.5mm line output, which, as usual, can be connected to any amplifier.

The second is a Bluetooth 5.0 streamer module with support for aptX and aptX HD codecs. The device is ready to broadcast the sound of the recording to a smartphone, and in good quality.
