Doshisha has launched a wireless audio system featuring a CD player, known as the ORION SMS 4 BT. A notable aspect of this innovative product is its incorporation of a narrow-beam metal horn emitter, reminiscent of a classic gramophone. The manufacturer claims that this acoustic design aims to enhance the clarity of the human voice, particularly at lower volume settings.
The ORION SMS 4 BT audio system features a 5 cm wideband speaker designed with a horn acoustic structure. Additionally, a 7 cm low-frequency driver is positioned on the bottom panel of the unit. The amplification is distinct, providing power levels of 5 and 15 watts.
The casing of the ORION SMS 4 BT audio system is constructed from resonance-resistant MDF boards, finished with a black piano lacquer that imparts a luxurious appearance. The control panel and volume knob are crafted from brushed aluminum. Beyond its CD playback capabilities, the ORION SMS4BT allows for music streaming from smartphones via a wireless Bluetooth connection and supports MP3 playback from USB drives. Furthermore, the audio system includes an FM tuner that can store up to 20 stations.
ORION SMS 4 BT provides a range of sound customization features, featuring a five-profile equalizer and a DBB function that boosts low-frequency performance. It also includes an analog input via a 3.5 mm mini-jack connector and a headphone output for versatile connectivity.
