You can connect a HDD drive to the CR-N775D’s USB input and use it to store and play files downloaded to a PC, including Hi-Res Audio in MQA format (firmware update required), Direct DSD 11.2 MHz and 192 kHz/24-bit FLAC, WAV and ALAC. Music from services such as TIDAL, Deezer and TuneIn, along with FM/DAB+ radio broadcasts, as well as audio from digital and analogue sources, can be easily selected using the JOG knob and large LCD display.
Blackfire’s FireConnect™ is a wireless protocol that is fundamental to ONKYO’s Next Generation Network Audio concept. The NGNA concept operates on dual-band 5GHz/2.4GHz Wi-Fi via the ONKYO Controller app for iPod touch, iPhone, iPad and Android™ devices to make music sharing simple and intuitive. The update allows you to stream from Internet services built into components including TIDAL, Deezer and TuneIn, as well as Spotify®, to stream audio from different sources connected to the same wireless network into FireConnect™-enabled speakers (ONKYO NCP-302). Sampling rates of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz are supported.
The audio system has convenient control thanks to an informative LCD display and a convenient multifunctional Jog/Dial switch. The Onkyo CR-N775D is equipped with improved Class D amplifiers with extended frequency and dynamic ranges. In addition, Optimum Audio Control technology ensures precise matching of the amplifier with the included speakers, resulting in very rich and balanced sound. The system provides an output for connecting an active subwoofer if you need to provide sound in a large room.
The device is equipped with a sensitive tuner operating in the AM and FM bands, and has a memory for 20 station settings. Among the additional functions of the receiver are the presence of an on/off timer and an auto-shutdown mode. To connect speakers, the Onkyo CR-N775D has two pairs of reliable screw terminals (also suitable for connecting banana terminals). Onkyo recommends using Onkyo D-165 speakers in conjunction with this receiver, and then you can use the speaker-receiver matching optimization system to improve sound quality.
