The Japanese company Marantz presents the CD 60 CD player, designed for the highest quality sound due to proven circuitry and selected components. With its sleek industrial design and exceptional build quality, the Marantz CD 60 brings the warmth, richness and volume that only Marantz components can deliver to digital sources.
“With an increasing focus on streaming music services and the growing vinyl market, we have forgotten that an entire generation of music lovers has large CD collections,” said Joel Sietsema, president of Marantz. “At the dawn of compact disc technology, we introduced the legendary Marantz CD 63 player. Now, delivering even more warmth, musicality and detail, the Marantz CD 60 reminds us why we believed in the format 40 years ago.”
Play Marantz CD 60 combines modern finishing materials and an impressive design that will go well not only with Marantz amplifiers but also with any others. The Marantz CD 60 is a stylish complement to the recently announced Marantz MODEL 40n integrated amplifier , making them an incredibly convenient pairing for those who treasure their CD collection and are open to new things like streaming music services. Many users will definitely appreciate the simple and convenient controls.
Marantz was involved in the development of the compact disc format and the Marantz CD 60 leverages all of its engineering expertise, including the latest version of the proprietary HDAM modules used in the player’s analog output section. The new HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules) have superior overall response compared to off-the-shelf IC solutions used by other manufacturers.
These modules have been further optimized for more precise bandwidth, resulting in reduced distortion at high frequencies for unparalleled musicality and detail in every recording. Complementing the high quality CD playback, the Marantz CD 60 features a convenient USB-A input on the front panel, allowing playback of a wide range of digital files such as MP3, WMA, AAC and WAV, FLAC HD, ALAC, AIFF (up to 192 kHz/24 bit), and DSD (5.6 MHz) from a connected USB drive.
The Marantz CD60 features a new reference-class D/A converter (192 kHz/24-bit and DSD 5.6 MHz) for high-quality music reproduction with incredible clarity across the entire frequency range. For the more sophisticated listener, the Marantz CD 60 D/A Converter has a unique choice of two digital filter modes, Filter 1 with a smooth roll-off slope and Filter 2 with a sharp roll-off slope for more accurate visualization of musical images. HDAM modules are used at the output of the digital-analog path of the Marantz CD 60, providing a feeling of lightness and comfort during long-term listening.
The built-in headphone amplifier in the Marantz CD 60 inherits the exclusive Marantz HDAM-SA2 circuit design with three gain settings (Low/Mid/High) for a perfect match with almost any model of headphones. To avoid any interference or noise when using the line output when headphones are not connected to the device, the headphone amplifier is equipped with an “Off Circuit” function that automatically turns it off. The Marantz CD 60 CD player is available in two finishes: Black and Silver Gold.
