Topping has introduced its premier desktop DAC and headphone amplifier, the Topping DX9 Discrete. With years of expertise in creating high-end desktop HiFi equipment, Topping’s DX series encompasses a comprehensive range of devices, featuring the well-regarded DX3 Pro+, DX5 MK II, DX7, among others. The latest DX9 Discrete stands as the apex of the DX series, delivering a 1-bit discrete PSRM DAC, a six-channel discrete NFCA headphone amplifier module, exceptional build quality, and a host of additional features.

The Topping DX9 Discrete incorporates a second-generation discrete 1-bit PSRM DAC architecture, which provides an impressive signal-to-noise ratio of 131 dB and an exceptionally low THD+N of under 0.00006%. This DAC circuit is meticulously crafted with high-quality components to ensure exceptional performance.
It is complemented by a proprietary six-channel discrete NFCA amplifier module, which delivers over 7 watts per channel into a 32 Ω load. The Topping DX9 Discrete possesses sufficient power reserves to effectively drive even the most challenging full-size, low-sensitivity headphones.
Moreover, the new product features headphone crossfeed support, which enhances the soundstage and fosters a more immersive, lifelike audio experience.

The Topping DX9 Discrete DAC/headphone amplifier is equipped with a fully balanced hybrid relay volume control, which guarantees ultra-precise level adjustments while minimizing signal degradation.
Channel balance is preserved at all volume levels, enabling it to effectively drive both high-sensitivity in-ear headphones and low-sensitivity/high-impedance full-size models with equal proficiency.
Additionally, this new product provides a wide range of sound customization options through a 10-band parametric equalizer (PEQ), allowing users to finely tune frequencies, gain, and Q to meet their individual sound preferences.

The Topping DX9 Discrete accommodates a diverse array of inputs and outputs. The input options consist of USB-B, AES, and IIS (I²S), along with two optical and two coaxial digital ports. Additionally, a Bluetooth 5.1 adapter is provided. The premium Qualcomm QCC5125 chipset is capable of supporting high-resolution codecs, including LDAC, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and more. Regarding outputs, the DX9 Discrete can operate as a standalone DAC, a DAC/amplifier, or a preamplifier. It offers both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR connectors for line and variable output. For headphone connections, the front panel is equipped with a 4.4mm Pentaconn jack, a 6.35mm jack, and a 4-pin XLR connector.

The Topping DX9 Discrete is notable for its outstanding build quality: the chassis is made from premium CNC-machined aluminum alloy, includes a clear top panel, and has two color displays featuring the user-friendly Aurora UI on the front. The displays are capable of FFT spectrum visualization and VU meter graphics.

The Topping DX9 Discrete desktop DAC and headphone amplifier is now available for a suggested retail price of $1,299 USD/€1,299.
