Highly efficient Class D power amplifier solutions are now widespread. But they are used not only in mass-market equipment, but also for top-end audio equipment lines. The Japanese company Marantz has introduced a new senior line of audio equipment. It includes a Class D power amplifier, made using the symmetrical dual mono topology with proprietary HDAM preamplifiers. The power of the new product is 500 W per channel into a 4 Ohm load with a THD of 0.05% across the entire frequency range of amplification.

The model has the dimensions of an aluminum (copper-coated) case of 440 x 192 x 473 mm. The thickness of the case walls is 15.8 mm. The handles on the front panel of the Marantz Model 10 rotate on ball bearings. A round OLED display is displayed in the center of the front panel, which can display various graphics, including arrow indicators of the signal level. There is also a backlight along the contour of the front panel. The amplification modules (from Purifi, 250 W at 8 Ohms per channel) provide a harmonic distortion level of 0.005% at a power of 125 W at a load of 8 Ohms and produce a damping factor of 500. The acoustics are connected via Bi-wiring. In addition to 4 linear inputs, there are 2 balanced ones on XLR connectors and a built-in proprietary phono preamplifier for MM / MC with a S / N ratio of up to 88 dB. There is an output for wired headphones with parameters of 130 mW at 32 Ohm.

The best of the best: From the triple-layer aluminum chassis with copper shielding to the all-new multi-layer circuit boards, isolated sub-chassis and all-new HDAM modules, the Marantz MODEL 10 is the result of decades of audio expertise, setting a new standard through meticulous engineering, advanced technology and elegant design.

Tuned by the Sound Master: The Marantz MODEL10 retains the signature Marantz sound characteristics of warmth, spaciousness and resolution. However, design improvements and fine-tuning by the Sound Master result in the purest expression of Marantz sound. The result is more detail, less distortion and a wider dynamic range than ever before.

Iconic details reimagined for tomorrow: Designed with a brushed aluminum façade, the Marantz MODEL 10 is housed in a copper three-layer chassis with an illuminated mesh grille. Lighting inside the amplifier showcases the circuit boards, high-quality components, and custom-designed transformer housing. In a nod to Marantz design DNA, the MODEL10’s porthole houses a high-resolution, full-color OLED display for volume and input selection, as well as a digital VU meter that behaves like vintage analog meters.
