Luxman M-200: High quality stereo power amplifier

The Luxman M-200 amplifier has a low metal case on vibration-isolating legs. The front panel is made of aluminum. On its left side there is a power button with an indicator. On the right is a miniature volume control knob, which is usually not typical for power speakers. To the left of it are two 7-segment red mini-LED displays, which show the current power values, but can also display the impedance of connected speakers, etc. Nearby is a button for selecting the display operating mode, with which you can also adjust their brightness (three are available option). In the center of the front panel there are two input selector indicators.

Luxman M-200 has a push-pull circuit using discrete elements. High quality components are used. Schottky diodes are used, as well as powerful output bipolar transistors PC150W. The power supply contains high-capacity capacitors (2×5200 uF) and an EI transformer from Bando. The tip can develop a power of 25 W per channel (at 8 Ohms), and when it is operated in Bridge Tied Load mode as a separate monoblock, this figure almost triples – up to 70 W.

On the back of the case there are the following inputs: balanced XLR, standard RCA. In case of a balanced connection, phase switching is available. There is a corresponding button on the back panel for this. The DIRECT/VARIABLE slide switch, which allows you to adjust the volume directly from the front panel, turns the terminal into an integrated amplifier. There is an input selector and a switch that switches the device to bridge mode. To connect speaker systems, there are two pairs of terminals using banana connectors. The model is equipped with a high-quality power cable JPA-10000.

The M-200 model was created specifically to work in a stereo system, which includes an external DAC, and a computer or media player is used as a source. The M-200 power amplifier is a good option for bookshelf speaker systems located in small spaces. And in bridge mode, when using two such devices, it will be possible to use even floor standing units. The sound of the amplifier is distinguished by openness, purity and correct tonal balance. The ideal companion for the M-200 is the Luxman DA-200 external DAC, which matches it in design and performance.
