With more than 45 years of expertise in turntable production, VPI’s design and engineering team has developed this innovative turntable. Central to the Model One is its advanced motor drive and platter assembly. This component is mounted on a robust aluminum plate and incorporates resonance-dampening technology to minimize vibrations and enhance sound clarity. The belt-driven motor operates at 500 rpm and includes a two-speed pulley for accurate speed regulation. An inverted bearing design reduces surface contact between the platter and bearing, thereby decreasing friction and enhancing overall performance.
The modular structure of the Motor Drive and Platter Module enables users to easily maintain, modify, package, replace, or upgrade the system. Future enhancements or new models will integrate effortlessly with this platform. This adaptable upgrade pathway allows owners to elevate their Model One to Model Two or Model Three specifications as they become available. The Model One is backed by a ten-year warranty, providing VPI customers with confidence in their investment, knowing their turntable is designed for longevity. These attributes contribute to the legacy of the Forever Series.
A key highlight of the Model One is the innovative VPI S Tonearm Module, which enhances both precision and construction quality. This 10-inch, S-shaped, statically balanced tonearm is crafted from solid aluminum to effectively eliminate tube resonances. The arm base features Vertical Tracking Adjustment for accurate height modifications, and Azimuth adjustment is accessible in the headshell. Equipped with ABEC 5 bearings, the tonearm ensures ultra-low friction, minimizing vibration and promoting longevity. A single, continuous strand of high-purity VPI copper wire connects the arm head to the RCA jack.
Additionally, the Model One showcases VPI’s new 3-Point Floating Suspension system, engineered for exceptional isolation from external vibrations. This sophisticated 3-D isolation mechanism stabilizes the turntable, reduces motor noise, and mitigates both external and internal vibrations.
The turntable retains VPI’s signature aesthetic, featuring a black ash veneer that offers a classic appearance, complemented by a hinged, transparent dust cover that safeguards the platter.
Details regarding the start of deliveries and the pricing of the Model One are still pending.
