The Italian company Sonus faber has announced the arrival of a new generation of speaker systems in the Homage series : Guarneri G5, Serafino G2, Amati G5 and Vox G3 . The Sonus faber Homage series of acoustics appeared in 1993, when the Guarneri model was first introduced – thus, this year Homage turns 30 years old.
The Homage series pays homage to acoustic musical instruments, with model names dedicated to the genius of the talented craftsmen who create them.
The new Homage series includes four models: the 5th generation Guarneri G5 2-way bookshelf monitors, the 2nd generation Serafino G2 3.5-way floorstanding speaker, the 5th generation Amati G5 older 3.5-way floorstanding speakers , and the Vox G3 3-way center speaker. third generation.
The cabinets of the new Homage series are manufactured on the latest equipment from the De Santi woodworking company, which Sonus faber acquired in 2021. The Homage Series cabinets retain the classic lute shape first seen in the Homage Tradition collection, but with redesigned metal construction, including smooth, rounded edges, with a graphite gray anodized finish.
The Amati and Serafino floorstanding models use a new 150mm natural fiber cone midrange driver with a neodymium magnet system and a shorter and wider voice coil for better control and faster response.
The Serafino bass driver uses a new voice coil material. Amati uses a new 220mm cone woofer. Two separate, ultra-lightweight CCAW voice coils are housed in a custom made neodymium Slug housing with two air gaps for maximum speed.
The new Homage series uses Sonus faber hybrid crossovers. The use of the latest modeling software, combined with a series of auditions, allowed the development of Sonus faber’s patented Paracross topology and interactive Fusion filtering. The crossover uses the highest quality components – hand-selected Jantzen inductors, Clarity Caps, and Mundorf capacitors and resistors.
