Lyngdorf CS-2: Built-in full-range shelf speaker

Lyngdorf CS-2
Lyngdorf CS-2

The Danish brand Lyngdorf , part of SL Audio A/S , presented the Lyngdorf CS-2 built-in box speaker system at ISE 2023 in Barcelona . The novelty is intended primarily for embedding in furniture, but can also be mounted in a niche in the wall.

The Lyngdorf CS-2 complements the Lyngdorf CS-1 cabinet speaker introduced in October 2020 with less depth. The rugged MDF cabinet with a matte black finish is only 20cm deep, 10cm less than the Lyngdorf CS1. Thus, we can talk about the appearance in the Lyngdorf nomenclature of a whole series of cabinet acoustics CS.

The emitters here are the same as those used in the Lyngdorf CS-1 model. An inch tweeter with a soft fabric dome is responsible for the high-frequency range. The rest of the range is entrusted to a driver with an aluminum cone with a diameter of 6.5 inches and a 35 mm voice coil, which works in a phase-inverted design – the phase inverter port is displayed on the front panel.

The Lyngdorf CS-2 built- in cabinet speaker will be available in April 2023. The recommended retail price in Europe is 799 euros per speaker.
