Ferrum presented its WANDLA – a versatile and extremely efficient DAC capable of very high-quality digital-to-analog conversion for the most accurate and faithful sound reproduction.
Wandla has many entrances; Custom-programmed USB, coaxial and optical S/PDIF, HDMI ARC (TV) and audio-optimized I2S ports. Additionally, the balanced design provides clear sound on the stereo RCA output and truly balanced stereo XRL output.
For the digital audio module, the optimized ARM chip ensures the shortest signal path possible, making 5 chips redundant. Includes MQA decoder/renderer and digital filter set.
WANDLA offers three ESS digital filters and two digital filters created for Ferrum by renowned filter manufacturer HQ Player.
WANDLA comes with a carefully selected DC power adapter. However, to get the most out of the WANDLA, you can connect it to the HYPSOS using the proprietary Ferrum Power Link DC power cable (not included).
At the heart of this WANDLA is a digital-to-analog conversion stage using the ESS ES9038Pro chip, recognized for its incredible performance and ability to provide accurate and transparent reproduction of a specific sound. The chip here has an independent power supply, which allows it to reach its full potential.
Additionally, it features a fully balanced, finely tuned modified preamp IC.
Unique FPL power socket design: two wires provide power and two wires provide feedback to ensure smooth voltage at all times. This eliminates the negative impact of cable resistance, effectively improving transient performance. The rate of current delivery to the input of the powered device is significantly improved.
MQA (for Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning British technology for restoring the sound of an original recording. The MQA master file is certified by performers, producers or copyright holders. These files are small enough to stream or download. Wandla has a built-in MQA decoder to play these files to ensure the best audio quality.
