New Dutch audio brand Lyssna Acoustics will introduce its first loudspeaker at Dutch Audio Event 2026. Called Lyssna Modular, the passive system begins as a compact two-way monitor and can later be expanded with a dedicated bass module to create a three-way floorstanding configuration.
A modular starting point
The foundation of the range is the Lyssna Modular Monitor, a compact two-way passive loudspeaker designed to operate as a complete product on its own. This gives owners the option of starting with a smaller standmount-style format rather than committing immediately to a larger floorstanding system.
Modularity is central to the product rather than being limited to cosmetic accessories or optional stands. The monitor has been developed as the upper section of an expandable loudspeaker platform, allowing the system’s physical format and driver configuration to change when the matching bass section is added.
Lyssna has not disclosed detailed driver specifications, cabinet dimensions, sensitivity, impedance or recommended amplifier requirements. The information released so far focuses on the system’s expandable architecture and the relationship between its two main components.

From two-way monitor to three-way floorstander
Owners can pair the Modular Monitor with the purpose-built Lyssna Modular Bass Module. Once installed on the bass section, the original two-way speaker becomes part of a complete three-way floorstanding loudspeaker.
The arrangement is intended to provide a staged upgrade path. A buyer can begin with the monitor and add the low-frequency module at a later date, avoiding the need to replace the original speakers when moving to a larger three-way configuration.
This approach also distinguishes Lyssna Modular from conventional speaker ranges in which standmount and floorstanding models are separate products. Here, the monitor remains an integral part of the expanded system rather than being traded in or reassigned when the bass module is introduced.
Integrated connection without extra cables
The monitor connects to the bass module through a dedicated interface located on its underside. According to Lyssna Acoustics, joining the two sections does not require additional external cables between the monitor and bass enclosure.

That concealed connection helps preserve the concept of the assembled product as a unified floorstanding loudspeaker. It also keeps the upgrade process focused on physically adding the bass module rather than introducing a separate externally wired speaker component.
Further technical information about the internal connection, crossover arrangement and bass-module design has not yet been provided. The system is confirmed as passive, however, so Lyssna Modular is being positioned as a conventional loudspeaker solution with an unconventional path for expansion.
Dutch brand prepares its public debut
Lyssna Acoustics was founded by Ruud Moerman and Kobus Oomen. The pair met through specialist retailer Omera – Hifi en Streaming Media, and the Modular system will serve as the new company’s debut product.

The loudspeaker is scheduled to make its first public appearance at Dutch Audio Event 2026, taking place October 10–11 in Veldhoven, the Netherlands. The event will provide the setting for Lyssna to present both the standalone monitor concept and its transformation into a three-way floorstanding system.
Retail pricing, production timing and broader market availability have not been announced. For now, the confirmed launch plan centers on the Dutch exhibition and the introduction of Lyssna’s upgradeable passive-speaker concept.
Lyssna Modular offers a clear proposition: start with a compact two-way monitor and retain it as the foundation of a larger three-way loudspeaker later.
