Denon is preparing to release the DP-500BT, a semi-automatic belt-drive turntable designed to connect vinyl playback with modern wireless audio systems. Alongside conventional turntable engineering, the model includes Bluetooth transmission with aptX codec support and integration options for compatible Denon and HEOS products.
Belt-drive engineering and an S-shaped tonearm
The DP-500BT is built around a precision belt-drive system intended to maintain stable platter rotation. Denon has paired the mechanism with a cast-aluminum platter, which provides the mass and consistency required to support smooth record playback.
A statically balanced S-shaped tonearm handles cartridge tracking. According to Denon, the arm arrangement is designed to reduce distortion while retaining the familiar manual process of positioning the stylus at the start of a record. The turntable is therefore aimed at listeners who want to preserve the physical vinyl experience without committing to an entirely manual design.
The semi-automatic system adds automatic tonearm lift and playback stop at the end of a record. This allows the listener to begin playback manually while reducing the likelihood that the stylus will remain in the runout groove after an album side finishes. The feature may be particularly useful in systems intended for frequent, everyday listening.

Bluetooth with aptX codec support
Wireless transmission is the DP-500BT’s defining modern feature. The turntable supports aptX, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, giving owners several Bluetooth options when connecting it to compatible playback equipment.
Records can be transmitted directly to Bluetooth speakers, soundbars or headphones, removing the need for a wired connection between the turntable and the listening device. This flexibility could help the DP-500BT fit into rooms where a traditional turntable, amplifier and speaker arrangement would be difficult to accommodate.
Codec compatibility will depend on the receiving product, but the inclusion of three aptX variants gives the turntable broad scope for use with current Bluetooth audio hardware. It also provides a straightforward route into vinyl for listeners whose existing systems are primarily wireless.

Denon Home and HEOS system compatibility
Beyond direct Bluetooth pairing, Denon says the DP-500BT works with Denon Home speakers and HEOS amplifiers. This allows record playback to become part of a compatible connected audio system rather than remaining tied to equipment located beside the turntable.
The arrangement is intended to place vinyl alongside other sources in a modern home setup. Owners can use the DP-500BT as the analog front end while relying on compatible Denon or HEOS components for playback elsewhere in the home. The exact configuration will depend on the products used and the capabilities of the receiving system.
By combining wireless transmission with conventional record playback, Denon is positioning the DP-500BT for both first-time vinyl buyers and established collectors seeking a more flexible secondary turntable. Its feature set also addresses listeners who want access to records through headphones or compact wireless speakers.

Chassis details and semi-automatic operation
Denon has equipped the turntable with molded metal feet and a vibration-resistant construction intended to provide a stable platform for the belt-drive mechanism. A removable dust cover protects the platter and tonearm when the unit is not in use, while the exterior uses a matte finish.
These elements support a design that balances practical daily operation with the mechanical requirements of vinyl playback. The automatic lift and stop system adds convenience, but the DP-500BT retains the visible platter, separate tonearm and hands-on cueing associated with a conventional turntable.
The result is a model that sits between fully manual hi-fi decks and more automated lifestyle turntables. Denon has not replaced the basic record-playing mechanism with an all-in-one format; instead, it has added wireless output and end-of-side assistance around a belt-driven platform.

Availability
Denon says the DP-500BT will begin a phased rollout during November 2026. Specific market timing may vary as distribution expands.
The announcement does not include confirmed US pricing. Further regional details are expected to depend on Denon’s local distribution and retail arrangements.
With its belt-drive mechanism, cast-aluminum platter and S-shaped tonearm, the DP-500BT retains familiar turntable fundamentals while adding semi-automatic convenience. Support for aptX Bluetooth, Denon Home speakers and HEOS amplifiers gives the model a clear role in wireless and multiroom systems when availability begins in November 2026.
