The Luxman PD-151 is a simplified version of the PD-171A turntable, and while maintaining high sound quality and a robust design, it is offered at a more affordable price. The turntable takes the most serious measures to combat vibrations and resonances, thanks to which its sound is detailed and neutral.

The Luxman PD-151 turntable features a 4 kg aluminum platter driven by a high torque motor. The main bearing spindle is precision-machined from hardened steel. The bearing housing is made of bronze, and the ball is made of ketone (a polymer material based on high-strength polyethylene). Organic molybdenum-based oil is used for additional bearing damping and to extend its service life. The Luxman PD-151 uses a belt drive, which provides good mechanical isolation between the motor and the platter. The precision brushless motor in the turntable ensures stable rotation of the record.

It is supported by a patented feedback technology (PID), which also provides accelerated output of the disc to the set speed. This model provides push-button switching of speed (33, 45 or 78 revolutions per minute), with a fine-tuning function. The accuracy of its setting can be controlled using an LED indicator. For better damping, the motor is located at a considerable distance from the support disk. The player has a classic single-support S-shaped tonearm. It has a special damping scheme of the support bearing, due to which it moves very smoothly. The player is not equipped with a pickup, but thanks to flexible settings it is suitable for installing a wide variety of models. The tonearm shell is made of magnesium alloy to reduce weight and provide the necessary rigidity.

The upper chassis of the player is made of aluminum and has a thickness of 10 mm, which allows to effectively combat vibrations. The power transformer and the motor are mechanically isolated from the chassis, which further improves the damping of the entire structure. The height-adjustable supports of the player have rubber inserts to dampen unwanted vibrations. The player is equipped with a branded phono cable.
