Exposure

The English company Exposure was founded in 1978 by John Farlow, who was both the owner of the company and the designer of operator consoles and Hi-Watt tube guitar amplifiers (they are highly valued to this day). The company currently produces high-quality electronics for stereo systems. Being a great expert in all the intricacies of the process of recording and playing music, John Farlow put his special view of excellent sound into the company’s products. High-quality Hi-Fi electronics are extremely in demand. All Exposure products are developed exclusively in the UK by a group of passionate music enthusiasts. Buying Exposure products is not difficult – today there is a wide range of products on the market under this brand. The price of Exposure products depends on the model and components. And customer reviews about Exposure are always only the most positive.

Exposure is one of the few Hi-Fi companies with a strong reputation in the audio industry. The exceptionally high quality of Exposure branded products (sound and design at the same time) has given the company’s products a plug-and-forget image and long service life. John Farlow puts the following meaning into the name of the company: Exposure to the music – “openness to music.” All Exposure products are assembled only by hand, without the help of robots or machines, and each product is engraved with the name of the assembler. John Farlow comments on this: “Let the master of his craft be responsible for the final product, and you will receive a true work of art.” Most of the electronics components used are manufactured at one of the UK aerospace manufacturing plants to specifications and under the Exposure brand. The main philosophy of Exposure is the production of Hi-Fi electronics that are capable of perfectly fulfilling their purpose and providing its owner with the right sound, while remaining in the background. This approach is very correct – after all, people mainly prefer to listen to music rather than hi-fi. John Farlow collaborated with such famous bands as Pink Floyd, Supertramp, The Who, and the Rolling Stones. The first amplifiers he created were intended specifically for use in the studio. Led Zeppelin recorded their albums with their help, and John’s longtime friends Robert Plant and Jimmy Page still use them. The sound of Exposure technology can be described as follows: open mids, deep delicate highs, powerful bass. A huge number of critics around the world consider this sound to be “correct”.

Since its founding, Exposure has produced only amplifiers, and only in 1996, after much thorough research, a CD player was created. All of Farlow’s developments within Exposure are based on an ever-improving set of tried and tested circuit modules – no radical innovations.

They feature very careful component placement and great attention to power supplies, which John believes defines and limits the amplifiers’ capabilities. These amplifiers have a surprisingly quiet background on the line inputs, but the result is wonderfully immersive music. By its nature, Exposure as a primary source is more inclined to LP, but is also suitable for CD – due to its large peak signal values. Exposure attaches great importance to ecology and environmental conservation. John Farlow himself is a convinced vegetarian and prefers to eat only what he grows in his own garden without the use of chemical fertilizers. He wears clothes made exclusively from natural fabrics and tends to walk barefoot on the ground. All company employees share his beliefs.

The equipment of the British company Exposure works on the principle of “connect and forget”. This feature is typical only for professional equipment, which is guaranteed to work for many years while providing excellent sound quality. The stylish design fits perfectly into the interior of the room and will definitely appeal to true Hi-Fi connoisseurs.
If what you value above all else in music is the emotions it evokes, then the Exposure MCX family was created for you. Its development focused on musicality and realism, resulting from exceptional smoothness, refinement and superb clarity of sound.

The MCX Exposure includes a CD player, preamplifier and power amplifier. In 2017, the company released a new series of components – XM. There are only two models so far: an integrated amplifier and a phono preamplifier. The series is distinguished by narrower front panels (only 218 mm) while maintaining the company’s corporate style and audiophile sound level. The company’s motto: “Openness to music.” It is for the full disclosure of the entire gamut of sound shades, harmonious reproduction of musical compositions, and data transmission under any load that Exposure amplifiers are used. Throughout the history of the company, the technical equipment of the equipment has been constantly improved, and advanced developments have been introduced.
