HiFi Rose has introduced the RW800 Rose Air Lite, a compact network player designed to add current-generation streaming features to existing hi-fi systems and selected HiFi Rose products. The unit supports Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Roon Ready, giving users several direct paths into app-based music playback without replacing their main system hardware.
A compact streamer with two roles
The RW800 Rose Air Lite is intended to work in two different ways. Used as a standalone network streamer, it can feed an amplifier, a pair of active loudspeakers or an external digital-to-analog converter. In that role, it serves listeners who want a small streaming source rather than a full-size network player with display-led operation and broader system functions.
HiFi Rose also positions the RW800 as an expansion module for compatible components from the brand. This second use case is particularly relevant for owners of existing Rose equipment who want access to newer streaming protocols that were not part of the original feature set of some products. Rather than requiring an immediate move to a new main component, the RW800 provides a dedicated route for adding those services.

Connect services and Roon support
The main feature list centers on direct streaming and platform compatibility. The RW800 supports Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect and Spotify Connect, allowing playback to be controlled from the native apps of those services where supported. AirPlay 2 and Google Cast are also included, broadening access for users in Apple, Android and multiroom environments.
Roon Ready support gives the unit a role in Roon-based systems, while Bluetooth 5.2 is included for quick wireless playback outside a full network-streaming workflow. Network access is handled through dual-band Wi-Fi or Ethernet, giving users the option of either wireless convenience or a wired connection depending on their installation.

Digital audio and system integration
HiFi Rose lists USB audio among the supported connection options, and the RW800 is specified for high-resolution playback up to PCM 32-bit/384kHz and DSD128. Those figures position it as more than a basic wireless receiver, particularly for users feeding an external DAC or integrating it into a more traditional hi-fi chain.
The product also reflects a shift in how many listeners use network audio today. For a growing number of systems, the most important interface is no longer the hardware screen or the manufacturer’s own control app, but support for the preferred music service’s native app, Roon, AirPlay or Google Cast. The RW800 is built around that expectation.

Who the RW800 is aimed at
The first audience is current HiFi Rose owners who are satisfied with their hardware but want modern streaming functions such as Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2 or Google Cast. For those users, the RW800 is a targeted add-on rather than a wholesale system change.
The second audience is broader: listeners with an older amplifier, active speakers or an external DAC who want to introduce network playback with a compact source component. The third group includes users who need Roon Ready support, Connect-style streaming and Bluetooth in a small device, but do not require extras such as HDMI ARC, a large touchscreen, phono input, room correction or preamplifier functions.
Availability
HiFi Rose has not announced USD pricing for the RW800 Rose Air Lite. Availability details for specific markets are also still to be confirmed. As a result, the product currently sits as a newly announced streaming add-on rather than a fully priced retail launch.
With the RW800 Rose Air Lite, HiFi Rose is addressing a practical need in both new and existing systems: simple access to the streaming protocols many listeners now use every day. Its appeal will depend on final market availability and pricing, but the concept is clear—a compact bridge between established hi-fi hardware and today’s app-driven streaming ecosystem.
