The Denon Home series of wireless acoustics has replenished with a subwoofer, which is called the Denon Home Subwoofer. Accordingly, the novelty supports HEOS proprietary wireless technology, which allows you to control the system and transmit audio signal wirelessly.
The subwoofer is an addition to Denon Home systems and therefore pairs well with the Denon Home Sound Bar 550. Using a pair of speakers from the same series as rear satellites, the system can be upgraded to a full 5.1 home theater setup.
The novelty turned out to be quite compact. The downward-facing 8-inch driver, driven by an optimized bass-reflex port, is housed in a 330 x 373 x 330 mm enclosure along with a Class D amplifier and other electronics. The subwoofer weighs 12.5 kg. The geometry of the case will provide a uniform sound transmission 360 degrees – this is a definite plus for placing a subwoofer in a room.
In addition, in the HEOS application, you can configure the subwoofer – adjust the filter frequency, switch the phase, set the level. WiFi IEEE 802.11ac is used for signal transmission. You can also connect with a cable – there is an RJ45 network connector on the rear panel. In addition, there is a USB port nearby – with it the system can read audio tracks from memory media.
The frequency range in which the Denon Home Subwoofer operates is not specified.
