Bowers & Wilkins has detailed the 805 D5, the compact model in its new 800 Series Diamond D5 line. Designed for serious stereo systems and smaller listening rooms, the speaker carries key 800 Series technologies in a standmount format, with dedicated stands available separately.

Compact format, 800 Series positioning
The 805 D5 sits as the smallest model in the 800 Series Diamond D5 range, but it is positioned firmly as a high-end loudspeaker rather than a conventional compact box. Its role is to offer the character and engineering priorities of the 800 Series in a form that is easier to accommodate than a large floorstanding design.
That makes the model particularly relevant for listeners building a focused two-channel system in a room where space, placement flexibility or visual scale matters. Bowers & Wilkins is presenting the 805 D5 as a route into 800 D5 performance without moving to a larger cabinet format.
The speaker is offered as a pair, and matching stands are sold separately. A white finish is listed among the launch information.

Diamond tweeter with revised top-mounted assembly
A central part of the 805 D5 is its Diamond Dome tweeter, installed in an improved Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing. For the D5 generation, the assembly is described as using longer tube loading and a new tweeter grille, with the aim of allowing high frequencies to play with greater freedom and openness.
The top-mounted tweeter arrangement is one of the visual and technical signatures of Bowers & Wilkins’ upper-tier loudspeakers. In the 805 D5, it helps distinguish the model from more conventional standmount speakers while keeping the design aligned with the rest of the 800 Series Diamond D5 family.

Continuum driver and reverse-wrap cabinet
The 805 D5 also uses a Continuum bass/midrange driver, another core technology associated with Bowers & Wilkins’ premium loudspeaker platforms. The supplied material positions this driver as part of the speaker’s ability to deliver precision, detail and musicality from a compact enclosure.
Cabinet construction is also central to the new model. The 805 D5 uses a resonance-controlled reverse-wrap cabinet, a design approach intended to support a cleaner presentation by managing unwanted cabinet behavior. Together with the tweeter assembly and Continuum driver, the cabinet forms the main technical foundation of the speaker.

Built for smaller listening rooms and serious systems
The 805 D5 is described as being well suited to smaller listening rooms, where a compact high-end speaker can be easier to place and integrate than a larger floorstander. When used on its dedicated stands, the speaker is presented as capable of producing a listening experience that exceeds what its cabinet size might suggest.
No amplifier matching data, sensitivity figures, frequency response specifications or other technical measurements have been provided in the supplied launch material. For now, the emphasis is on the product’s place within the 800 Series Diamond D5 line and the technologies it brings to a smaller format.
