Onkyo TX-RZ70
Onkyo TX-RZ70

Onkyo ‘s new AV receiver promises to bring studio-quality audio into your home. The TX-RZ70 is one of Onkyo’s first products since the brand was acquired by Premium Audio Company (PAC) in 2021. Therefore, all attention is focused on him. Luckily, this flagship AVR looks great, at least on paper.

Onkyo TX-RZ70

It boasts 11.2 channels, 140 watts per channel. HDMI 2.1, 8K (and 4K) resolution and 40GPS speeds come standard. It also has full bandwidth functionality for the highest refresh rates to keep up with the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Audio performance is powered by 23-bit ESS Saber DACs that deliver ultra-low distortion. Sound is optimized for your room with Dirac Live Room Correction, and you can upgrade to Dirac Live Bass Control, which uses AI and machine learning to optimize bass performance based on your surroundings.

Voice control is provided using Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri. Roon Ready certification will be available this September via a firmware update, allowing you to access your entire high-resolution music library digitally.

There’s also aptX Bluetooth on board, so you can listen to music in a higher quality codec using a pair of compatible wireless headphones. The rest of the list of specs includes a large number of technical features: Dolby Atmos, Dolby Surround, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, THX Certified for Theater Reference Sound and Klipsch Optimized Mode for optimal performance with Klipsch Reference Premiere speakers – all this comes as standard. Let’s talk about full functionality.
