Argon Audio has introduced the BERLIN SUB 12, a compact sealed subwoofer designed for music, home cinema and gaming systems. Developed in Denmark, the new model combines a 12-inch down-firing driver with powerful Class D amplification, 64-bit digital signal processing and a claimed low-frequency extension to 18 Hz.
Sealed Cabinet With a 12-Inch Down-Firing Driver
At the center of the BERLIN SUB 12 is a custom long-stroke 12-inch woofer using a cellulose and glass-fiber diaphragm. The driver faces the floor and operates within a sealed MDF enclosure, an arrangement intended to support controlled low-frequency reproduction while keeping the driver hidden from view.

The built-in Pascal Class D/PWM amplifier is rated at 500 watts of continuous output and 1,200 watts peak. Argon Audio specifies a frequency range of 18 Hz to 250 Hz at the -3 dB points, while the adjustable crossover covers 30 Hz to 250 Hz.
Despite its output specification, the cabinet measures 13.6 inches wide, 15.2 inches high and 13.6 inches deep. Product weight is 33.5 pounds. Recessed, angled rear connections allow the enclosure to sit close to a wall, while the feet help separate the cabinet from the floor. Argon Audio lists the BERLIN SUB 12 in multiple finishes, including black.
Real Time Bass and Speakermatch Processing
A 64-bit DSP platform manages the BERLIN SUB 12’s signal processing and protection functions. Argon Audio’s Real Time Bass technology is designed to reduce delay through the internal electronics while also compensating for the physical response of the woofer. With a wired connection, total system latency is specified at 0.19 milliseconds.
Speakermatch addresses the transition between the subwoofer and the system’s main speakers. Its DSP filters include settings for common loudspeaker alignments such as bass reflex, sealed-box and passive-radiator designs, along with presets for selected Argon Audio and Radiant Acoustics models.
The feature is intended for installations in which the main speakers operate across their full frequency range. Argon Audio advises switching Speakermatch off when crossover and bass-management duties are already being handled by an amplifier or AV receiver through digital filtering or an LFE configuration.

Room Adjustment and System Controls
Setup is handled through an angled integrated display and a single-button menu control on the rear panel. Available adjustments include output level, low-pass filtering, delay, phase, subsonic filtering and standby behavior. Delay can be configured across a range corresponding to zero to 10 meters, while phase can be switched between zero and 180 degrees.
Three equalization presets accommodate different positions within a room. The DSP also provides a three-band notch filter for reducing standing waves and prominent room resonances, alongside Room EQ settings for further adjustment.
Automatic power and standby operation responds to incoming audio signals. A DSP limiter protects the system from overload, and standby consumption is specified at 0.5 watts. There is no remote control or app-based operation, so configuration is performed directly from the subwoofer’s rear panel.

Wired Inputs and Optional MATRIX Wireless Operation
The BERLIN SUB 12 accepts analog signals through RCA and balanced XLR inputs. An RCA line output makes it possible to pass the signal to another subwoofer, supporting systems that use multiple bass units.
Argon Audio has also integrated its MATRIX Wireless receiver platform. Wireless operation requires the separately available Essentials MATRIX TRANSMITTER, which monitors activity from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other nearby wireless systems before automatically selecting a stable connection. A conventional wired connection remains available for installations where cabling is practical.
A USB-C port is included for firmware updates. The wireless transmitter and subwoofer cable are optional accessories rather than standard items. The package itself includes the BERLIN SUB 12, a power cable and a startup guide.

The BERLIN SUB 12 is the larger model in a range that also includes the BERLIN SUB 10. Argon Audio positions the 12-inch version for listeners who need greater output capability in larger rooms, while the smaller model is intended to provide similar claimed bass extension from a more compact enclosure.
The combination of analog connectivity, optional wireless signal transmission and detailed DSP adjustment allows the BERLIN SUB 12 to serve in stereo, home-cinema and gaming installations. Its wall-friendly cabinet and down-firing driver are also intended to make placement less visually intrusive in living spaces.

The BERLIN SUB 12 expands Argon Audio’s subwoofer lineup with a high-powered sealed design and an unusually broad set of integration controls. Its 12-inch driver, 500-watt continuous amplifier, low-latency processing and optional wireless link make it suitable for systems where placement flexibility and precise setup are priorities.
