Czech audio manufacturer Fonolab has unveiled the second generation of its Qvattvor 4×4 step-up transformer designed for moving coil (MC) cartridges. The updated Qvattvor 4×4 SUT features a compact steel enclosure arranged in a dual mono configuration, consisting of two distinct housings that share a common front panel.
This step-up transformer is a passive device that amplifies the low-level music signal from an MC cartridge to match the output level of a moving magnet (MM) cartridge. The new Qvattvor 4×4 is equipped with cinch inputs, while the output can be configured as either an XLR or cinch connection. The design employs a balanced topology, utilizing two transformers for each channel.
Each channel is contained within its own enclosure, providing optimal shielding. The newly developed Qvattvor 4×4 model has been meticulously crafted for compatibility with high-end MC cartridges, targeting audiophiles and professionals who seek unparalleled precision.
Details regarding technical specifications, pricing, and delivery have yet to be disclosed.
