The latest T-series speakers from the Danish audio manufacturer Børresen are meticulously designed and crafted in Denmark, reflecting the knowledge acquired from the 0- and M-series. Serving as a successor to the 0-series, the T-series is said to be the culmination of thorough research and innovative advancements. This new series includes three models: T1, T3, and T5, and is available in two distinct versions.
The Børresen T series draws significant inspiration from the Børresen M series, incorporating scaled-down M technologies. This new series showcases a blend of high-gloss lacquer, carbon, and genuine wood veneer, merging elegant design with superior acoustic capabilities.
The T series comprises three models: the T1 monitor, along with the T3 and T5 floorstanding speakers. Each model is offered in two configurations: the standard version and the Silver Supreme Edition (SSE). While both versions utilize the same advanced driver and cabinet designs, distinct enhancements differentiate them. The standard T1, T3, and T5 models are equipped with cryogenically treated copper pole rings and Darkz T2 resonance control devices. In contrast, the SSE versions of the T1, T3, and T5 feature upgrades such as cryogenically treated silver pole rings for reduced inductance, titanium driver baskets, and superior Darkz T2 resonance control devices.
Børresen has innovated the traditional iron core design by incorporating four neodymium (N52) rings arranged in a patented mirror-image configuration, enhancing the responsiveness of the voice coil. The T1, T3, and T5 models are equipped with copper pole rings that mitigate flux variations, resulting in improved clarity, while the Silver Supreme Edition utilizes silver pole rings to achieve superior conductivity, further enhancing midrange resolution and transparency.
In the SSE version, the five-inch drivers are constructed with titanium baskets, providing outstanding stiffness and damping. The design, optimized through finite element methods (FEM), ensures unobstructed airflow for optimal performance.
The T3 and T5 models feature dual speaker connections, allowing for both bi-wiring and bi-amping capabilities. All speakers in the Børresen T-series utilize serial crossover networks, ensuring that transducers in the filter area receive a phase-locked electrical current. With the dual speaker connections, the T3 and T5 can be effectively powered and fine-tuned for the listening environment using the Aavik active crossover, which is available in various amplifiers from the sister brand Aavik.
