ATC EL50 Anniversary: Limited-Edition Active 3-Way Floorstanding Speaker

ATC EL50 Anniversary

ATC unveils the EL50 Anniversary, a limited-edition active 3-way floorstander with tri-amp Class AB power, in-house drivers, and premium finishes. Debuting at Bristol HiFi Show 2026 with only 50 pairs available.

British loudspeaker manufacturer ATC has announced the ATC EL50 Anniversary, an active three-way floorstanding loudspeaker that will be released in limited numbers. The ATC EL50 Anniversary loudspeaker will make its world premiere at the Bristol HiFi Show 2026.

ATC claims the ATC EL50 Anniversary is derived from the company's established 50 platform. The model continues ATC's discreet, active, triple-amplified approach, with a design that harks back to previous models like the SCM50 Anniversary and the SE series. The industrial design harks back to the EL150 with its elliptical case, originally developed by founder Bill Woodman.

The ATC EL50 Anniversary introduces a new active three-channel Class AB MOSFET amplifier with a balanced input, controls, and active fourth-order crossovers. Its rated power is 200 watts for the woofer, 100 watts for the midrange, and 50 watts for the tweeter. The design utilizes discrete amplification stages and individual toroidal transformers for each amplifier channel, plus a separate low-voltage power supply, to reduce noise and intermodulation distortion while maintaining headroom. It also features selectable input sensitivity, trigger control, and a protection circuit.

The ATC EL50 Anniversary cabinet's enclosure uses a multi-layer laminated construction for enhanced stiffness and damping. A curved baffle and edges are designed to reduce diffraction and maintain consistent response both on and off-axis. The woofer is mounted within an aluminum ring bonded to the baffle for added stiffness. Standard finishes include select European walnut veneers with ebony inlays, high-gloss lacquer, and nappa leather detailing around the midrange and tweeter.

All drivers in the ATC EL50 Anniversary are designed and manufactured in-house. The tweeter is ATC's SH25-76S with a neodymium motor and a dual-suspension dome. Midrange performance is handled by the SM75-150S 75mm Superdome with a frequency response of 380Hz to 3.5kHz. Low frequencies are handled by the SB75-234SL 9-inch woofer, which utilizes ATC's Super Linear motor system to reduce harmonic distortion and maintain linear excursion.

The ATC EL50 Anniversary will initially be produced in a limited edition of fifty pairs, each with a bound book documenting ATC's history since 1974. Production is expected to continue after this limited run. The speaker is expected to be available starting in March 2026.
