There’s a clear shift happening in modern hi-fi and smart-home setups. It’s no longer just about great sound in a single room—it’s about systems that work everywhere, stay stable, and disappear neatly into the living space. That’s exactly the idea behind the new sonoro STREAMER and sonoro AMPLIFIER, two compact components designed as much for installers as for serious home listeners.

Instead of chasing flashy features, sonoro is focusing on something more practical: reliable streaming, clean sound, easy integration, and hardware that behaves predictably in both living rooms and larger multiroom projects.

The multiroom function allows the synchronization of multiple sonoro STREAMER and sonoro AMPLIFIER speakers in different rooms.

Streaming has become the backbone of most audio systems, whether you’re running a simple stereo setup or a whole-house installation. But once you move beyond a single room, stability, integration, and ease of setup matter just as much as sound quality.

With the STREAMER and AMPLIFIER, sonoro is clearly targeting both worlds. These are components that look at home in a clean living-room rack, but are also ready for 19-inch installation environments, smart-home systems, and professional multiroom setups.

Both units are housed in compact aluminum enclosures, feature front-panel displays, and are designed to work without constant cloud connections or complicated setup routines.

sonoro STREAMER: The central hub for modern systems

The sonoro STREAMER is built as a flexible digital hub. It’s meant for anyone who already has active speakers, a power amplifier, or an existing hi-fi system and simply wants to add serious streaming capabilities.

In daily use, both devices feature a 4-inch display that clearly shows sources, playback status, and system settings.

Connectivity is broad and practical, including HDMI eARC, optical inputs and outputs, analog I/O, subwoofer output, USB, and trigger connections. In other words, it’s designed to slot into almost any setup without drama.

At its core sits an ESS SABRE DAC, handling high-resolution conversion for clean, consistent sound whether the STREAMER is feeding active speakers, acting as a preamp, or driving an external power amplifier. Built-in EQ and bass management make it easier to tailor the sound to different rooms and speaker types.

sonoro AMPLIFIER: Streaming and power in one compact box

If you want fewer boxes, the sonoro AMPLIFIER combines streaming and amplification in a single unit. It’s equally comfortable driving traditional hi-fi speakers or passive in-ceiling and in-wall speakers in a multiroom environment.

With sonoro Multiroom, the manufacturer introduces its own closed multiroom system based on audio-over-IP. Networking is via LAN, which is intended to enable stable, low-latency signal distribution.

The Class D amplifier section delivers up to 2 x 250 watts at 4 ohms, giving it enough muscle for demanding speakers or larger rooms. Like the STREAMER, it uses an ESS SABRE DAC and offers practical connectivity: HDMI ARC, optical input, analog input, subwoofer output, USB, LAN, and Wi-Fi.

Tone controls and bass management are also built in, making it easy to adapt the sound to different spaces without external processors.

One of the more interesting aspects is sonoro Multiroom, the brand’s own closed system based on audio-over-IP. Instead of routing everything through the cloud, it runs over a local network, which means lower latency and more predictable performance.

The combination of modern streaming technology, robust connectivity, a standalone multiroom system, and ease of installation appeals equally to discerning home users and professional integrators.

Multiple STREAMER and AMPLIFIER units can be synchronized across rooms, and each zone can be clearly identified on the front-panel displays—an especially useful touch in larger installations.

Both units are clearly designed with installers in mind. They can be mounted two-per-tray in a 19-inch rack, set up without an active internet connection, and integrated into smart-home ecosystems like KNX, Gira, Busch-free@home, and JUNG.

Control is equally flexible: directly on the unit, via remote, through the sonoro app, or as part of a larger automation system. A handy favorites system allows quick access to commonly used sources across different inputs.
