The appearance of the headphones is made in the traditional, recognizable Beyerdynamic style. A distinctive feature of the DT 1990 PRO model is the original design of the ear cups, which gives the headphones their unique appearance. The outer surface of the cups has numerous slots. A fine metal mesh is visible underneath them, effectively contrasting with the black surface. These holes are necessary for the open acoustic design of the headphones and here they look great as an element of a unique design.
As with all Beyerdynamic professional headphones, the DT 1990 PRO uses a durable metal construction at its core. Reinforced fastenings are used at the junction of the cups and the bracket. The brackets themselves are also made of metal. It is important that all Beyerdynamic headphone parts are replaceable and can be purchased separately. This feature significantly extends the life of the headphones. Even if any structural elements are worn out, they can be replaced.
The headband is made in the form of a single bow, covered with leather. On the outside there will be a stylish imprint of the manufacturer’s logo. On the inside, along the entire perimeter of the arch, there are soft foam cushions that provide additional comfort during use. The coverage distance of the headphones is adjusted by discretely extending brackets from the headband, 3.5 centimeters on each side.
The DT 1990 PRO headphones use full-size round ear pads that can comfortably fit larger ears. The ear pads are deep and do not create additional pressure on the auricle, thereby allowing you to use the headphones for a long time. The headphones come with an additional pair of replaceable velor ear pads. It is curious that they differ slightly in the tightness of the fit, which makes it possible to fine-tune the sound. According to the manufacturer, softer ear pads (balanced) provide a slight boost in low frequencies. Solid (analytical) ones give a more neutral sound. The differences are not so significant by ear, but tuning enthusiasts will appreciate this opportunity.
