Marantz AV8805: Designed for use in high-end home theater systems

Marantz AV8805
Marantz AV8805

The Marantz AV8805 AV processor is designed for use in high-end home theater systems and has everything you need to fine-tune professional surround sound in a variety of rooms. In addition, the processor provides audiophile-grade sound quality that will satisfy the needs of the most demanding music lovers, and the ease of control of the AV processor is ensured by the presence of a proprietary mobile application.

The Marantz AV8805 is equipped with 15.2-channel audio output, made on RCA and XLR connectors, which provides high connection flexibility, and also (when using a balanced connection) can radically reduce the level of interference with long connecting cables. The surround sound processor supports all existing formats, including object-based Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D. All AV processor channels use high-end 24-bit/192 kHz DACs to ensure accurate audio processing and smooth surround sound. The device uses proprietary HDAM modules, which provide signal amplification with minimal distortion over a wide frequency range.

The Marantz AV8805 features a copper-clad chassis and a composite top panel. There is a round display in the center of the facade, and on the right and left there is an attenuator for adjusting the volume and an input selector. All other controls and a second, more functional display are located under the front panel cover. There are also AV connectors, a headphone jack, a 3.5 mm input for a calibration microphone, USB (with support for iPod/iPhone) and HDMI.

The power supply is equipped with a toroidal transformer. Each channel of the Marantz AV8805 features a 32-bit AK4490 DAC and a discrete HDAM module, and the circuit topology uses current feedback to improve sound performance.

To adjust the sound depending on the parameters of the room being sounded and the acoustics used, you can use the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 auto-calibration system. Sub EQ HT technology helps you properly tune the sound of a system with two subwoofers. Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ functions are provided to optimize signal level and frequency response, and Audyssey LFC prevents low frequencies from leaking into adjacent rooms. The Marantz AV8805 AV processor has eight HDMI inputs (including one on the front panel) with support for HDCP 2.2, HDR. BT2020, Dolby Vision and HLG. To connect display devices, the processor has three HDMI outputs. When analog video devices are connected to the AV processor, the signal from them can be converted for transmission via HDMI.

The Marantz AV8805 AV processor is equipped with full network functionality with support for playing Lossless and High Resolution files and streaming from popular on-line services. Network connection is possible via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and the AV processor also includes Bluetooth. For integration into automation systems, the AV8805 features RS-232C with Crestron Connected certification, full IP control, an IR port, and a 12-volt trigger. Marantz also plans to add compatibility to the device with the Amazon Alexa voice assistant. The processor is fully compatible with the HEOS multi-room system and supports music streaming through a variety of services: Spotify, TuneIn, JUKE, TIDAL, Napster, Deezer, Apple AirPlay, SoundCloud and Amazon Prime Music.
