WiiM Pro Plus is a compact, extremely versatile and high-performance audiophile streamer that turns your average audio system into a networked system. It opens the door to music streaming via WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 and is compatible with numerous data transfer modes such as DLNA/UPnP, AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Alexa Music Cast, Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect. Multiple devices can be used in combination to create a true multi-room system with full remote control via the WiiM App or voice assistant such as Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri.
WiiM Pro plus is an improved version of WiiM Pro, which uses more advanced DACs and ADCs, as well as more efficient op-amps. Its characteristics, especially regarding line input and output, have been revised upward, improving SNR and THD+N for even more accurate and transparent sound reproduction. Key improvements to WiiM Pro+ include:
- Improved line-in ADC: The WiiM Pro+ uses the TI Burr-Brown PCM1861 ADC, supporting 32-bit 192 kHz PCM output streams with 110 dB SNR.
- Ultra-Low Noise Clock, Power Supply and Circuit: WiiM Pro+ features an ultra-low noise clock and power supply, and the PCB design is optimized to achieve a THD+N of less than -110 dB for analog output.
- AKM DAC and TI Op-Amp for improved line output quality: Now uses the next generation AKM AK4493SEQ DAC, delivering very low distortion and wide dynamic range thanks to AKM Velvet Sound technology. This chip supports PCM streams up to 768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512, while achieving SNR 120 dB (A-wt) and THD+N -110 dB.
- Remote Control: A voice-activated remote control is included, allowing you to control WiiM Pro+ without leaving your couch or taking out your phone.
Bit perfect is a term widely used in audio. It is used to describe a player that can play a file without any modification.
For example, if the player plays a 24-bit/192 kHz Hi-Res file on Qobuz, then the digital output will offer 24-bit/192 kHz. Likewise, if the music file being played is 16Bit/44.1kHz, then the digital output will offer 16Bit/44.1kHz without any change. The actual ratio is 1:1 (input/output).
This is what we call a real Bit-Perfect reading, as close as possible to the musical reality of the piece being performed.
WiiM offers a free WiiM Home mobile app for iOS and Android that allows you to easily manage all WiiM devices connected to your network.
WiiM Pro+ is compatible with many streaming services and web radio stations such as Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, Amazon Music and TuneIn. You can enjoy your favorite music services and stream them wirelessly to your audio system. And if you want to connect other audio devices to the WiiM Pro, it features a stereo RCA input and an optical Toslink input.
The WiiM Home app also gives you a 10-band graphic equalizer, allowing you to fine-tune your audio experience based on your listening style and audio system. There are also 24 preset equalizer profiles available for quick and easy setup.
Gap-free playback improves the listening experience. WiiM Pro+ uses two decoders to remove spaces between tracks at the beginning and end of each song and then merge them together.
WiiM Pro plus supports Apple’s AirPlay2 wireless streaming protocol, allowing you to not only easily stream music from your Apple device, but also stream it to multiple audio devices simultaneously.
It also supports DLNA protocol and integrates Chromecast, allowing you to stream music wirelessly from the vast majority of connected devices.
WiiM Pro+’s built-in multi-room feature allows you to stream music throughout your home in 3 different modes. If you are using an Apple product, you can use Airplay 2 to set up a multiroom system. If you are using an Amazon product, you can use AVS (Alexa Voice Service) Multiroom technology. Finally, WiiM also offers an app for convenient control of the multi-room system from your smartphone.
With WiiM Pro plus, you can stream music directly from Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect streaming services without using the WiiM Home app.
The WiiM Pro+’s digital-to-analog conversion stage uses the AKM AK4493SEQ DAC chip. It supports high-resolution streams up to PCM 32-bit 768 kHz and DSD512, and also has very good audio performance: SNR is measured at 120 dB and THD+N is -110 dB.
