Musician Draco: Balanced R2R DAC with I2S input

Musician Draco is a fully balanced, high-end R2R DAC with high quality components. Versatile with full connectivity, it can also operate in NOS (Non Over Sampling) mode to avoid artifacts that can occur with oversampling.

Musician Draco’s R2R architecture delivers fast, high-quality decoding coupled with low digital noise for maximum distortion and extremely low noise floors. Combined with Draco’s specially designed digital filters, the DAC is capable of delivering dynamic, rich and natural sound reproduction.

Le Musician Draco is equipped with a modern connection panel to suit all needs and all types of connections. On it you will find digital inputs, I2S over HDMI, USB-B, AES, Coaxial and Optique Toslink. Output is available via RCA or XLR.

Powerful, Draco is capable of processing data quickly and efficiently thanks to the Altera Cyclone FPGA and high-performance ARM STM32F446 processor.

Musician Draco has been designed to provide broad compatibility via the I2S input, with phase adjustment available as follows:

1. Select input I2S-A1 or I2S-A2.
2. Press and hold the NOS button for 3 seconds until the I2S indicator flashes.
3. Press the PHASE button to move through the 8 phase modes.
4. Draco will automatically exit this setup menu after 5 seconds of inactivity.

The Musician Draco linear power stage is equipped with an O-Core transformer. The linear regulator effectively isolates the digital and analog parts, ensuring low noise and stable voltage for the DAC.
