Cambridge Audio has unveiled its latest streamer, the CXN100, which replaces the CXN V2 that ceased sales last year. The CXN100 features the ESS ES9028Q2M SABRE32 DAC chip, promising superior sound compared to the Wolfson WM8740 model used in its predecessor.
Developers also upgraded system components, including capacitors and operational amplifiers, resulting in reduced distortion and improved signal-to-noise ratio.
The CXN100 utilizes the fourth-generation StreamMagic module, found in Cambridge’s MXN10 budget player and Evo 75 and Evo 150 streaming amplifiers. It supports Chromecast, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, UPnP (up to 32 bit/768 kHz), Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz, and Deezer.
Connectivity options include USB and USB Type B inputs (32 bit/768 kHz, DSD512), coaxial (24 bit/192 kHz) and optical (24 bit/96 kHz) inputs, as well as RCA and balanced XLR outputs. Bluetooth support includes SBC and AAC codecs. Pricing for the CXN100 has yet to be announced.
