With the T8 , Aiyima offers a versatile unit that is a tube preamp, headphone amplifier and DAC at a very affordable price. The preamp stage uses a 6N3 tube which provides good musicality with a warm and round sound. The headphone amplifier is based on the integration of the MAX9722 chip, which allows it to provide 120 mW of power under a 32Ω load. Finally, the digital part of the device takes advantage of the ES9018K2M DAC and CM6642 interface, which allows sampling rates up to 24-bit 96 kHz and ensures accurate audio reproduction.
In terms of connectivity, the T8 is no slouch and will easily fit into the vast majority of audio systems. There’s stereo RCA, Toslink Optical, coaxial, USB-B, and even Bluetooth 5.0 wireless reception with support for aptX and aptX HD high-definition codecs. As for the outputs, we can count on stereo RCA in the line output and Jack 6.35 mm in the headphone output.
