The Shanling EC Zero is a new portable CD player that combines modern digital architecture with traditional mechanical playback. This model is designed for those who still value the physical format but want to take full advantage of modern technology. The enclosure is crafted from CNC-machined aluminum, with tempered glass and retro design elements.
The device is based on a professional CD mechanism with a proprietary servo system, ensuring precise data reading and stable disc rotation. An active magnetic stabilizer further reduces vibration and improves playback stability. A separate motor with palladium-coated brushes ensures durability and smooth operation.
The audio component is built around an AK4493S DAC and two SGM8262-2 operational amplifiers. This combination produces an expressive and natural sound, and a power output of up to 836 mW (with external power, 4.4 mm jack) allows for the use of even the most difficult headphones. PCM formats up to 768 kHz and DSD512 are supported, as well as operation in USB DAC mode.
The EC Zero can be used as a CD player, Bluetooth transmitter (aptX Adaptive/aptX/SBC), or USB DAC. It features 3.5mm and 4.4mm jacks (for headphones and line-level audio), coaxial, and optical outputs. A built-in 5500mAh battery provides up to 10 hours of playtime, and when connected to an external power source, the device switches to high-power mode.
The player supports CD ripping to WAV format (using FAT32 drives), allowing you to digitize your collection while preserving the original quality. A volume slider and button lock are located on the side panel for convenient operation.
