Gold Note has updated its 5-series, and the CD-5.2 is part of that update. The Gold Note CD-5.2 is a CD player with volume control and digital outputs for those who prefer a different digital-to-analog converter. The components of the 5-series are relatively compact.
According to Gold Note, the CD-5.2, as part of the 5.2 series, is built according to a clear principle: not striving for small, marginal improvements, but for real, tangible, high-level changes. Every design choice is guided by the desire to offer a concrete step forward that is always audible, never merely theoretical.

The CD-5.2 presents a new aesthetic language exclusive to this line, featuring elegant finishes and a new black anodized, sandblasted aluminum chassis. Designed to minimize interaction with magnetic fields, this chassis creates a more stable electrical and mechanical environment, significantly reducing background noise and enhancing micro-detailing for a more natural listening experience.

The CD drive, which can read both pressed and burned CDs, is supplied by Stream Unlimited. DA conversion is handled by an AKM K4493 DAC chip. The CD-5.2 features select, top-quality audio components and eliminates distortion for a pure, immersive sound experience. An intuitive touchscreen is located on the front panel, and Gold Note also includes a remote control. Since the CD-5.2 is equipped with a volume control, direct connection to a power amplifier is possible.

Analog music signals are output via RCA and XLR, and digital outputs are also included. According to the manufacturer, the internal power supply has been improved, but the CD-5.2 can also be powered by the optional external power supply.
Gold Note claims an S/N ratio of 124 dB and a total harmonic distortion of 0.001 percent. The CD-5.2 measures 200 x 80 x 260 millimeters (W x H x D) and weighs three kilograms.
