The Yamaha RX-A4A uses the Qualcomm® QCS407 chipset to deliver superior sound quality and support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for a cinematic experience and superior audio performance with DSP technology. SURROUND:AI technology uses artificial intelligence to analyze the configuration of audio sources in entertainment content and optimize the surround sound of individual audio elements such as background music, dialogue and sound effects. The Yamaha RX-A4A also features Yamaha’s Cinema DSP HD3 3D surround sound technology, which is based on a combination of actual measured sound field data and the latest digital signal processing techniques. The updated CINEMA DSP HD3 technology includes new signal processing algorithms and brings sound quality closer to what you hear in movie theaters, creating a realistic sound field that truly immerses you in what’s happening on screen.
The Yamaha RX-A4A receiver uses Anti Resonance Technology (ART) in the form of a special fifth leg, which is located in the front center of the device. It absorbs much more vibration from the power transformer, transistors and heat sinks, as well as possible vibration from the speakers, resulting in dynamic sound and focused, accurate reproduction.
The Yamaha RX-A4A is equipped with Zone2 compatible speaker terminals and can send audio and video content played in the main room for playback in another room (or even play other content in that room). For example, if the speaker is also installed in the bedroom or kitchen, you can move into that room and continue listening to the same content as in the main room (or different).
The Yamaha RX-A4A AV Receiver is equipped with Phono input jacks so you can connect a turntable and enjoy music from your vinyl record collection. The four SCENE buttons can be assigned to different input signals, as well as sound field programs, Music Enhancer, HDMI output and other functions. You can select different sources as input, such as an FM or Internet radio station, a streaming service station, a USB device, or a song on your PC or network storage device. Once you’ve configured all the buttons, simply press the one you want on the main unit or remote control to turn on the receiver and hear your favorite music. The buttons can be reconfigured at any time.
For those who don’t have in-ceiling or upward-firing speakers in their system, Dolby Atmos with virtual height synthesis technology simulates the Atmos experience using forward-facing drivers. Set up up to five speakers to reproduce the effect of two in-ceiling speakers, or use all seven channels to simulate the powerful effect of four in-ceiling speakers. Enjoy a 5.1-channel surround sound system with two additional in-ceiling speakers or two Dolby Atmos height-effect speakers for stunning sound effects for truly immersive surround sound. And Dolby Surround technology will add volume to even older content that did not originally support surround sound.
DTS:X immersive audio formatting technology places sound where it belongs in space, creating a realistic and immersive audio environment. The included DTS Neural:X™ spatial upscaling engine brings greater immersion and realism to your favorite movies.
MHL technology makes it easy to directly connect compatible mobile phones to this AV receiver. Supports playback of images from phones with a resolution of up to 1080p and multi-channel audio. In addition, the receiver charges the connected phone. You can use the remote control to turn playback on and off and perform other basic operations.
The Yamaha RX-A4A’s symmetrical internal layout and completely redesigned circuit boards ensure the shortest possible signal path on each board. The new H-shape design improves the receiver’s cabinet strength and sound stability for crisper, sharper, cleaner playback.
