The Dirac Live Bass Control extension, which is part of the Dirac Live room acoustics correction system, has become available to owners of certain AV receivers and processors from two related brands. The corresponding software is already available for download, although at an additional cost.
The “optional” extension of Dirac Live Bass Control is due to the fact that you can do without it if the home theater system is installed in a room with favorable acoustics. It is necessary in rooms of complex configuration with furniture, carpets and other objects that make correction difficult. Dirac Live Bass Control allows you to effectively correct uneven frequency and phase characteristics by controlling the operation of subwoofers.
The software update is available for Denon AVR/AVC-A1H, AVR/AVC-X3800H, AVR/AVC-X4800H, AVR/AVC-X6800H models. Marantz: AV 10, CINEMA 40, CINEMA 50.
To activate Dirac Live Bass Control in these devices, you must purchase a license for $349 (version for systems with one subwoofer) or $499 (for systems with multiple subwoofers). Activating the base system in the limited-band version will cost $259, and converting it to wideband will cost another $99. The microphone is purchased separately: recommended Dirac UMIK-1 pf $132 or UMIK-2 for $289. The microphone included with the receivers will not work with the Audyssey system.
