The Creek Voyage CD player represents the second addition to a fresh series of electronics from Creek Audio Ltd. It is engineered for compatibility with the newly introduced Voyage i20 amplifier, as well as for standalone use. The Creek Voyage CD excels in transforming digital data into an analog signal. True to its name, it also accommodates traditional compact discs, delivering high-quality playback through the Stream Unlimited CD80 audio transport. Additionally, the Voyage CD functions as a digital preamplifier with a DAC capability, enabling users to effortlessly switch between six digital sources and adjust volume levels as needed.
To achieve optimal sound quality for the Voyage, Creek opted for a 32-bit AKM digital-to-analog converter featuring VELVET SOUND technology. This high-end DAC is known for its low distortion and extensive dynamic range. A dedicated switch on the rear panel allows for the activation of the built-in volume control. Consequently, the Voyage CD can be directly linked to a power amplifier or active speakers. It supports PCM signals up to 384 kHz via USB and can handle native DSD digital data streams up to 22.4 MHz.
Audio is delivered through high-quality unbalanced RCA connectors and balanced Neutrik XLR connectors. WIMA polypropylene capacitors with tight tolerances and MELF surface-mount resistors effectively eliminate any residual digital aliasing artifacts. To enhance the performance of Voyage, Creek has engineered a specialized high-frequency power supply that provides a stable voltage to the DAC and CD transport circuits. This advanced power supply guarantees peak performance irrespective of line quality, voltage, or frequency, no matter the location globally.
