Chinese brand Tecno has unveiled the Phantom X2 Pro , a high-end smartphone that features the world’s first retractable portrait lens to create true optical bokeh.
The official world presentation of the Phantom X2 series took place on December 7 in Dubai. Jack Guo, CEO of TECNO, said: “TECNO has always been committed to creating the latest and greatest premium technology. The new flagship smartphone of the PHANTOM X2 series introduces the PHANTOM brand to the high-end smartphone market with a pioneering spirit of innovation both inside and out.”
The company is touting the benefits of the new device with a plethora of promises, including its “groundbreaking features” and “outstanding performance . ” So far, only one feature, of course, catches the eye – a retractable lens.
Tecno says the camera has a 65mm f/1.49 lens and also provides a 2.5x optical zoom. 1/2.7 sensor with 1.28 µm pixel size. The “innovative” system promises users to shoot portraits that are said to be comparable to those taken by professional cameras. Tecno also adds that the lens design is a “technological breakthrough” and will ” lower the threshold for studio portraiture”
This lens is just one of four that the Phantom X2 Pro is equipped with. Its main camera is equipped with a 64-megapixel RGBW sensor with a wide-angle lens. They are joined by a 13MP ultra-wide-angle module with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP telephoto lens. The front selfie camera has a resolution of 32 megapixels.
In addition, the Phantom X2 series has a range of professional modes that Tecno says will give users even more freedom when shooting.
In addition to the camera, the Phantom X2 Pro boasts up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, a 5160mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging, a 6.8-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

Tecno Phantom X2 will be available for purchase worldwide starting at the end of December. It will be available in Stardust Gray and Mars Orange. The prices of smartphones have not yet been reported.
