The all-metal enclosure features a sleek front panel with rounded edges, crafted from specially treated anodized aluminum that extends slightly beyond its boundaries. In the center of the panel, a color TFT display provides information such as album covers, file names, current time, playback duration, and other relevant data. Users can adjust the display’s turn-off time through the menu settings. Additionally, the front panel includes a USB port for connecting external storage devices like flash drives and hard drives. A corresponding USB port is also available on the rear panel of the Atoll MS120.

The device can connect to a local network through both a LAN port and Wi-Fi. It supports the vTuner online service, which offers access to over 15,000 internet radio stations, allowing for uninterrupted playback. The following formats can be played via a local network and USB: FLAC / WAV (up to 24 bit / 192 kHz), ALAC, AIFF, MP3, among others. An internet connection also enables software updates for this model. On the rear panel, in addition to the USB input and LAN port, there is a standard analog linear RCA output and two digital output options—optical and coaxial—designed for connection to an external DAC. The Atoll MS120 model features a high-quality linear power supply and premium audiophile components.

Additionally, a dedicated mobile application is available for control purposes. The Atoll MS120 player is compatible with DLNA and UPnP network protocols, ensuring seamless streaming of audio content from online platforms like Qobuz and Tidal through applications such as Mconnect (available for both iOS and Android) and BubbleUPnP (Android only).
