UK-based Kerr Acoustic started out as a manufacturer of loudspeakers for studio environments. Approximately three years ago, the company launched its first loudspeakers for consumers. These were the K300, K320, and K100 models . The K200 monitor model followed in 2023, and this model is also built with pro-audio requirements as the starting point. According to the designers, the K400 is the British loudspeaker manufacturer's most home-friendly professional monitor. It comes in various versions.

Kerr Acoustic K400

The British loudspeaker manufacturer Kerr Acoustic is not (yet) very well known in the Benelux. The company focuses primarily on more demanding users and professionals. The new K400 promises to be the company's most home-friendly and affordable professional monitor to date. The K400's more compact two-way design is not only better suited for smaller rooms, but it is also more affordable. In addition to the usual placement on a stand, the K400 can also be mounted on the wall and ceiling, making it easier to integrate into a wider surround system.

The loudspeaker measures 341 x 164 x 310 mm, and the enclosure is made of Baltic birch plywood with internal reinforcement, similar to that of the K300. It utilizes a slightly smaller 150 mm ScanSpeak mid-bass driver and a 45 mm true ribbon tweeter, as well as the company's in-house developed transmission line technology. This ensures a frequency range of 39 Hz to 45 kHz, which, according to the designers, results in exceptionally well-controlled and deep bass reproduction, combined with a clear and undistorted midrange. According to the manufacturer, the K400 is therefore perfectly suited for stereo installations in smaller rooms, as well as for high-end and studio multi-channel systems. Magnetic grilles are included.

The Kerr Acoustic K400 loudspeaker will be available from May 8. The buyer can choose from various types of wood veneer, including oak and walnut. A satin lacquer finish, high-gloss lacquer, and high-gloss veneer (in any RAL color) are also available. The custom-made K400 stands are optional.
