Fyne Audio has launched the Cubitt 5, the company's first active loudspeaker. The Cubitt 5 features streaming capabilities and could serve as a gateway to the Scottish brand for a new target audience. Meanwhile, the Cubitt 5 features the coaxial driver technology that sets Fyne Audio apart from many of its competitors.

The Cubitt 5, named after Cubitt Court, Fyne Audio's new headquarters and high-end product factory in Glasgow, continues the brand's technical tradition by bringing it closer to a broader and more connected audience. At its core, the Cubitt 5 is a compact and fully active loudspeaker system equipped with proprietary Fyne technologies and expertise, designed to allow a new generation of music lovers to enjoy authentic high-fidelity sound quality. The company strives to connect people with music in the simplest way possible via devices and platforms they know and appreciate. The Cubitt 5 is a significant step for the brand, combining Fyne Audio's acoustic expertise into an active, all-in-one solution in a compact monitor model.

The music signal can be supplied wirelessly or via cable. At the heart of the Cubitt 5 is Fyne Audio's latest 125-millimeter IsoFlare point-source driver, renowned for its precise stereo imaging and natural, room-wide sound. By radiating sound from a single point in room, IsoFlare creates a cohesive listening experience. This is further enhanced by FyneFlute surround technology, which reduces unwanted coloration and improves overall clarity, reproducing music accurately and balanced across a wide listening area.

The Cubitt 5 integrates amplification, crossover, and digital signal processing into the speaker system itself, with a power output of up to 240 Watts and support for high-resolution 24-bit/96kHz audio. The designers promise confident, dynamic performance without the need for external components, cables, or the complexity of hi-fi systems. The Cubitt 5 aims to make it all as simple as possible.

Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD and AAC is the chosen technology for the wireless connection of the Cubitt 5. Fyne states that the Bluetooth circuit has been extensively developed to guarantee the purest possible signal path to the amplification module.

For wired connections, the Cubitt 5 features a built-in high-quality phono amplifier for playing vinyl, while analog and optical digital connections provide input for all older equipment and devices in the home. Furthermore, the compact speakers can enhance the sound of a television thanks to the HDMI eARC connection.
The package is rounded off with a subwoofer output for a slight LFE boost and a handy little remote control that can be discreetly attached to the back of one of the speakers.
Fyne Audio states that the Cubitt 5 is the result of two years of research and development, aimed at encouraging a new generation of music lovers to enjoy high-quality music reproduction at home. Following Fyne's recent first steps into the world of home cinema, the Cubitt 5 demonstrates that the company strives to make its presence known as a point-sourced producer to a wider audience.
The Cubitt 5 from Fyne Audio is priced at $649 and is available in Midnight Black, Pearl Titanium, Olive Green, Pebble Grey, and Arctic White. The speakers are expected to be available from June 2026.
