Kaleidescape offers a wide range of professional video players and servers, along with an extensive movie download store and mobile app. The audio and video quality provided by Kaleidescape is comparable to physical media, but with the added convenience of instant downloads.
Kaleidescape has recently unveiled the new STRATO V video player, which will be replacing the popular STRATO C model in their product lineup. Unlike its predecessor, the STRATO V comes with a built-in SSD drive, allowing for standalone use without the need for network connectivity. The 960 GB solid-state drive can store approximately 10 movies in 4K resolution of reference quality. Additionally, Kaleidescape has introduced a new offline interface optimized for navigating a smaller movie library.
The Strato V player enables users to download a 4K movie from Kaleidescape’s servers in just 10 minutes over Gigabit Ethernet while the movie is playing, without any compromise in performance. Downloads are automatically removed after 48 hours, creating space for additional movies when relying solely on internal storage. Purchased movies remain accessible to the owner on Kaleidescape’s servers, while rented movies expire 30 days after rental or 48 hours after the rental movie first starts playing (whichever comes first). If you prefer to store your movie library locally, Strato V is compatible with the company’s entire ecosystem, including Kaleidescape’s Terra Prime movie servers. When using this storage, the full Kaleidescape user interface is utilized for navigation. Multiple Kaleidescape Strato V video players can be grouped with one or more Terra video servers, allowing users to scale the size and functionality of a Kaleidescape system.
The Kaleidescape STRATO V video player is equipped with HDMI version 2.1 ports and supports video with an extended dynamic range of HDR10 and Dolby Vision. It also supports HDMI audio output in Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats. Traditionally for Kaleidescape, the STRATO V player is ready for integration into smart home systems. For this purpose, support for Kaleidescape control protocols over Ethernet has been added (supported by Josh.ai, Crestron, AMX, Control4, Savant, Kaleidescape applications and other applications and control systems). Lutron RA3 and HomeWorks control over Ethernet is also implemented.
The Strato V player grants users access to the Kaleidescape Movie Store, where they can find a wide selection of 4K and HD titles such as movies, TV shows, and concerts. Currently, there are over a hundred titles available in Dolby Vision, with more on the way. Additionally, movies come with high-quality multichannel and object-based audio options, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
The Kaleidscape Strato V 4K video player can now be purchased for $3,995, as per the suggested retail price. It is worth mentioning that the previous Strato C model was also priced at the same amount.
