Musical Fidelity launched the Nu-Vista DAC and Nu-Vista Vinyl 2 in November 2023. At the time, the manufacturer had announced an optional external power supply, which can also power the yet-to-be-launched Nu-Vista CD. The Nu-Vista Uni PSU has now been released in black and silver.
The members of Musical Fidelity’s Nu-Vista product line are the company’s flagship products. In late November, the Nu-Vista DAC digital-to-analog converter and the Nu-Vista Vinyl 2 adjustable phono amplifier were released .
The Nu-Vista Uni PSU is an upgrade power supply for the Nu-Vista Vinyl 2, Nu-Vista DAC and a new upcoming Nu-Vista CD player already in November 2023. As with the Nu-Vista PRE, PAS and PAM, improved sonic performance is achieved by removing the power supply from the main unit and placing it in a separate enclosure. Independent power supplies for each of the audio channels as well as the control systems provide even greater sonic depth and separation of the audio channels.
Musical Fidelity uses the extra space to achieve a design that goes a step further than what is usually possible in one-box solutions. This allows the power supplies to be quieter and virtually no network-related artifacts reach the sensitive audio circuits.
The optional three-metre connection cables allow the power supply to be placed far away from the actual DAC or Vinyl 2, maximising audio performance and allowing for flexible setup.
