There’s good news for older Apple TV owners as well – Apple is releasing a new firmware version 16.1 for the tvOS operating system with a completely redesigned user interface.
Moreover, we are talking not only about design, but also about the voice assistant Siri – in the new version, interaction with Siri has become much closer to voice control on the iPhone or iPad. Similar to the iOS/iPadOS implementation, the Siri icon animates when you start speaking. The icon has shrunk, appearing in the bottom corner instead of a bar running the length of the bottom of the screen. This allows you to leave more screen space for useful information.
In addition, Siri received several new features. Now the assistant is able to recognize the voice of each user and, accordingly, download their content. That is, for example, advising you to watch a movie, Siri will use information from your profile.
The tvOS 16.1 update is available from October 24, along with iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16 updates. The firmware can be installed on the fourth generation of Apple TV HD and on all versions of Apple TV 4K .
