Leica, during the IFA 2022 consumer electronics exhibition, held from September 2 to 6 in Berlin (Germany), announced its entry into the market of laser TVs with devices from the Cine 1 family.
Specialists from the Chinese company Hisense took part in the development of solutions. In Leica, new items are called “laser TVs”, but, in fact, these are ultra-short-throw projectors made using Triple RGB laser technology. Equipped with aspherical Summicron optics, manufactured to Leica’s high standards.
The Cine 1 series includes two models: 80″ and 100″ diagonal imaging models. The first is set at a distance of 15 cm from the screen or wall, the second – 30 cm. Moreover, the developers emphasize that these values should not be changed.
The projectors provide 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 dots) and a 60Hz refresh rate. In the younger version, the brightness reaches 2100 lumens, in the older version – 2500 lumens. Claimed service life exceeds 25,000 hours.
The devices have a Dolby Atmos audio system, a built-in TV tuner, three HDMI interfaces, including HDMI 2.1, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports.
The Cine 1 will be priced at $6,900 for the 80-inch version and $7,900 for the 100-inch version. Sales will begin in the second quarter of next year.
