Denon AVC-A1H and AVC-X4800H: Powerful and advanced AV receivers

New additions to Denon
New additions to Denon

Denon has delivered on its September promise with two remarkable AV receivers: the flagship AVC-1H and the simply powerful and advanced AVC-X4800H. Both new products support HDMI 2.1, on board there are 10 HDMI ports (seven inputs and three outputs) that pass video up to 8K, and even with 4K upscaling to 8K. In addition, gaming features such as VRR, ALLM and QFT are available.

Both models allow you to connect four subwoofers, and a future paid upgrade, if desired, will allow you to use Dirac Live to set up the system. As for the spatial audio formats, for each of the two new products, support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, Auro 3D and, for the first time, Sony 360 Reality Audio is announced.

The flagship AVC-A1H replaced the previous leader in its class, the Denon AVC-A110 110th Anniversary Edition. The novelty received 15 channels of built-in amplification (working configurations – up to 7.4.6), requiring the installation of the largest power transformer among Denon devices. Hence the weight of 32 kg, which in turn forced the development of a particularly durable anti-vibration chassis. An important addition to conventional switching are four assignable balanced XLR outputs.

The younger of the two new products, AVC-X4800H, received 9 amplification channels of 200 W each, providing configurations up to 5.4.4.

In the US, the Denon AVC-A1H AV receiver is already on sale for $6,500 and the X4800H for $2,500.
