Nothing has released new wireless over-ear headphones with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) called Nothing Headphone (a). The battery life is exceptionally long, at approximately 130 hours with ANC turned off. This is much longer than the Nothing Headphone (1), the previous model, which also had a substantial 80-hour playtime. The new Nothing Headphone (a) are about half the price, despite their much longer battery life.

Building on last year's Headphone (1) , the colorful new Nothing Headphone (a) is aimed at a younger, hipper audience, according to the designers. It introduces a bass-focused sound signature, a more affordable price tag, and colorful details. Yes, the design is distinctive.

The new headphones weigh 310 grams and feature 40mm titanium-coated drivers. According to the manufacturer, these offer a strong and durable construction for powerful, distortion-free sound across the claimed frequency range of 20 Hz to 40,000 Hz. The wireless Bluetooth 5.4 headphones support the Hi-Res LDAC codec for streaming up to 32-bit/96 kHz.

Active Noise Cancelling (ANC, which in plain English means suppressing ambient noise) is available in a standard mode and a transparency mode. There's also a hybrid ANC setting that adapts in real time to your environment and the fit of your headphones. This setting reportedly offers up to 40 dB of depth reduction and uses four microphones.

Nothing also continues its collaboration with Swedish company Audiodo for the Headphone (a), which utilizes Audiosphere technology. While the recently announced Astell&Kern PD20 utilizes Audiodo's expertise in adapting sound to the listener's hearing, it creates a natural and spatial experience by optimizing how audio is perceived in realistic environments.

Audiosphere reportedly combines spatial processing expertise with user-centric design principles to expand the perceived soundstage while maintaining Nothing's philosophy of providing balanced and realistic tuning.
Long playing time with a full battery
Perhaps the most striking feature of the Headphones (a), however, is their long battery life. According to the manufacturer, the battery lasts a whopping 135 hours with ANC turned off. For those in a hurry, a quick five-minute charge should be enough for about five hours of listening time.
Three main controls – a roller, a switch, and a customizable button – provide the user with easy operation, while comfort is ensured by a memory foam headband and earcups.
Price and delivery information
The Nothing Headphones (a) are available now for €159. Choose from white, black, or pink earcups. A limited-edition yellow version will be released on April 6, 2026.
