Xiaomi CIVI: Photogenic and photographic mobile aimed at young audiences

Xiaomi CIVI

The popular Chinese manufacturer launches a new brand of smartphones with the announcement of the Xiaomi CIVI , a mobile focused on selfies and young consumers. It is a device with a 120Hz curved screen, mid-range hardware, 5G connectivity and a high-capacity selfie camera.

The Xiaomi CIVI boasts a curved screen and a gradient back cover

The first thing that comes out of the Xiaomi CIVI, is its 6.55-inch AMOLED screen with FullHD + resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels) and, more interestingly, a refresh rate of 120HZ ; But this is not all, the panel itself boasts thin edges and curvature at the side edges. As always, there is a hole in the top center for the selfie camera, which we will talk about at the end.

Beneath its elegant presentation lies hardware to match, starting with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 788G chip with 5nm lithography and 5G connectivity . In this vein, the SOC is accompanied by several memory configurations: 8GB of RAM + 128GB / 256GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM + 256GB of storage.

Finally, the set is powered by a 4,500mAh battery , which fortunately has a 55W fast charge capable of restoring the capacity to 100% in 45 minutes; Although yes, it is shipped without a charger and due to the winds that blow with the  European Commission , this will not be the only terminal to do so.

In terms of connectivity we can expect ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, Dual-SIM 5G and NFC. As an operating system, MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 awaits us .

The Xiaomi CIVI’s rear camera setup has a 64-megapixel main sensor , an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 120 ° -degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

However, the star of the show is the Samsung GD1 brand 32MP selfie camera , which comes with great photographic features like auto focus, dual soft LED flash, and skin renewal technology. The latter is based on machine learning to reconstruct facial imperfections such as acne, marks, blackheads, among others.

Availability and price

The Xiaomi CIVI is currently only official in China, where it is sold in three colors (black, pink and blue) for the following prices:

  • 8GB + 128GB = 2,599 yuan (345 euros at the change)
  • 8GB + 256GB = 2,899 yuan (385 euros)
  • 12GB + 256GB = 3,199 yuan (345 euros)
