Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 introduced for Windows laptops ensures more security and battery life

Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 computing platform. This is the second generation of entry-level processors for Always Connected computers. The new chipset will allow the use of affordable Windows 10 PCs – thin, light and fanless systems that provide high performance, autonomy and LTE connectivity. Snapdragon 7C Gen 2 devices are expected to be available this summer.

The Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 features eight Kryo 468 cores, clocked at up to 2.55 GHz. The graphics accelerator is not listed, but, apparently, it uses the same Adreno 618 as in the previous generation of the chipset. It is noted that the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 platform provides up to 10% performance gain, as well as twice the autonomy compared to most competing platforms. The company claims 19+ hours of continuous battery use.

The fifth-generation Qualcomm AI Engine is responsible for processing artificial intelligence tasks, enabling the latest AI features to work faster and more efficiently than ever before.

The new single-chip system is also great for multimedia applications. The Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 supports 4K HDR video streaming, Hi-Fi Audio and supports cameras up to 32MP. With built-in enterprise-grade protections, Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 users can rest assured that their data is safe.
